As the Assistant Store Manager, you will assist with overseeing store operations at our Houston, TX store location. You will be responsible for achieving company objectives in profit and loss control, sales performance, customer satisfaction, and shrink results by supporting the Store Manager and overseeing the specific operational aspects of the store. The Assistant Store Manager will have a dotted-line responsibility for managing employees of the store in partnership with the Store Manager.

Essential Functions of this position include:
- Assists with managing sales performance to meet sales and margin goals
- Assists with team scheduling management to always ensure adequate store coverage
- Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the store
- Uphold Tennis Express standards for merchandise presentation and stockroom organization
- Assists with holding associates accountable for meeting established operational guidelines, brand standards, customer service expectations, and company policies
- Assists with on-boarding/training of hourly associates
- Assists with driving shrink results through compliance to all guidelines involved with safety, loss prevention, and cash-handling procedures; may serve as store “Shrink Coach”

- Proactively handle escalated situations and offer creative solutions
- Maintain inventory levels in the store
- Assist with training our staff in sales techniques and new product launches

- Computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office and Excel
- Flexible availability – including nights, weekend, and holidays

Work Environment
This position operates in a typical retail environment that requires frequent face-to-face interactions with customers. This role routinely uses computers and cash registers/credit card machines. The use of racquet stringing machines and related tools/supplies may also be required.
