The part you’ll play

We are looking for a team lead for our new Marketplace team. The new marketplace domain will market our partners’ products in our own shops, and you have the great opportunity to build this new product from the ground up. 

For this position, you will manage/coach a small group of backend engineers on their daily performance and personal growth, also build the tech team with the support of your management colleagues and HR. You will ensure that the team's engineers have the skills necessary to accomplish their tasks in accordance with the objectives of our business. In order to maintain our pace of continuous improvement, you and your team will work together to deliver on our integrated product roadmap and optimize the development cycle. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support our Marketplace vision and build a future-proof service-based architecture. 

  • Emphasize the importance in helping us build a team with cross functional domain knowledge to work on complex processes. 

  • You will be part of a dynamic and agile team that makes decisions together and works independently on solutions. 

  • Specify and organize technical tasks between different domains and teams. 

  • Responsible for maintenance tasks in our legacy systems. 

  • You will also support code reviews and improve our services and processes. 

  • In charge of release management of the solutions 

 

What you’ll bring to the team

  • 5+ years of experience in software development mainly with PHP. 

  • 2+ years of experience with latest Symfony versions, other popular frameworks are considered 

  • 2+ years of experience in leading a team of developers. 

  • Knowledge and experience in system design and architecture. 

  • Good code design, OO principles, Unit/Functional testing, SOLID, and KISS 

  • Experienced in building scalable systems 

  • Experience with distributed systems (service-based architectures) 

  • Bonus points for Mulesoft, SFCC, DDD, Kafka, Event-Driven Systems, AWS and Marketplace Middleware experience e.g. Tradebyte or Mirakl 

  • You are self-organized and passionate to work in a dynamic and agile environment. Have a hands-on mentality

Will this be a remote-first position while Covid-19 is present?

Luckily, our business model never shifted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Since we work remotely on a regular basis this won’t affect us – perhaps in the future when our company grows, an office could be highly valuable. 

If you find yourself wanting to come into the office, we provide co-working spaces where you can visit as you please – for example, twice per week or whenever you feel comfortable doing so.
