SIGNA Sports United (SSU) has built the global #1 sports e-commerce & technology platform with market leading positions in Bike, Tennis, Outdoor & Team Sports. We are leveraging our unique tech and operating platform to power our leading online shops like Fahrrad.de, Bikester, Probikeshop, Tennis-Point, Outfitter, and many more, and to provide solutions to industry partners, including end-to-end e-commerce as-a-service solutions for brands and federations, connecting and enabling offline specialist retailers and integrating with digital sports communities.

We recently announced to go public through a business combination agreement with Yucaipa Acquisition Corporation (NYSE: YAC). The combination also includes the acquisition of the WiggleCRC Group, one of the largest online bike retailers globally, currently owned by Bridgepoint.

The combined entity will become the largest pure-play sports e-commerce and technology platform company by revenue, with expected net revenues of approximately $1.6 billion in the financial year ending on September 30, 2021, serving over 7 million active customers, 1,000+ brand partners, 500+ connected retail stores, and more than 15 million sports community users globally.

Job Objective

Managing central IT / Tech topics in a global group: 

  • Designing, implementing, managing and controlling standardized IT processes incl. KPI monitoring, reporting and escalation​ 
  • Ensure reliable and secure operation as well as further development of central IT infrastructure 

What you will be responsible for

You and your teams will… 

  • …design and implement SIGNA Sports United’s IT service management based on common standards and best practices in a globally operating group. 
  • …implement and control standardized IT processes such as Change & Release-, Incident-, IT Asset- or Continuity management. 
  • …introduce overarching key performance indicators and the associated reporting for the entire operational services area. 
  • …drive continuous development of IT services and infrastructures. 
  • …manage critical incidents and changes centrally. 
  • …are responsible for the global IT Service Desk and for the compliance and further development of the IT Service Management processes. 
  • …implement / build a comprehensive IT asset management system. 
  • …provide the IT environment for our group: Managing the global IT infrastructure and taking responsibility for our IT workplaces, data centres and networks. 
  • …design and implement a group-wide IT infrastructure management for platform-based provision and operation of core IT infrastructures such as servers & storage, network, workplace, data server and backup. 
  • …make “make or buy” decisions and are committed to developing global service, support and sourcing concepts for the IT infrastructure. 
  • …are the single point of contact for all workplace related topics across the group. 
  • …review, plan, and coordinate disaster recovery exercises to ensure the effectiveness of emergency preparedness measures. 
  • …will monitor and report agreed availabilities and optimize procedures and processes to ensure and restore availability and will be responsible for follow-up on major incidents, problem analysis and resolution, and follow-up on problem management actions.

What we're looking for

This role is for you when you… 

  • …have 10+ years in IT, strong track record in IT service management and IT operation, infrastructure services & management, IT governance & compliance and process management 
  • ...have 3+ years leadership experience, having led and ideally built international teams within the IT Service Management and IT Infrastructure area. 
  • … are knowledgeable and experienced with common standards and best practices such as COBIT, ITIL, etc. 
  • …when you have worked with teams (companies, business units) across borders (working with teams in the U.S. is a huge plus) 
  • …are pragmatic and hands-on and enjoy being actively involved in building up a company's operational services. 
  • …are fluent in English (fluency in German is a “nice to have”; additional language skills are a plus) 
  • …have strong communication skills, and a confident and persuasive communication style.
