Job Objective:

In order to support our strong growth and to build a best-in-class Corporate Finance function, we are looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Finance manager who will assume the position as Group Head of Accounting & Reporting for the SSU group.

The Group Head of Accounting & Reporting will be a strategic financial leader and partner to the Finance management team on all matters relating to the Accounting activities of the organization. The Group Head of Accounting & Reporting is a critical member of the Finance leadership team and will work closely with the CFO and all relevant internal and external stakeholders – the position will report into the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) and Deputy CFO.

The Group Head of Accounting & Reporting will play a critical role in driving the future of the company developing a high-performance Accounting & Reporting team that can execute the company’s vision for both organic and inorganic growth. The candidate will proactively approach and drive the further development of the group’s Accounting and Reporting function.

What you will be responsible for

  • Building and managing the core (IFRS) Accounting & Reporting functions: accounting, consolidation and reporting
  • Acting as sparring partner to the CFO and CAO in all decision-making processes, including SOX readiness
  • Processing and supporting upcoming M&A projects
  • Preparing and steering the function towards a successful Post-IPO setup
  • Building out state of the art Accounting and Reporting structures and enable data driven automated processes
  • Especially in the beginning ability and willingness to “roll up the sleeves”

What we're looking for

The future Head of Accounting & Reporting is an experienced Finance manager with broad and deep experience with US-listed companies. Furthermore, the candidate is experienced with inorganic growth including post-merger integration. Additionally he/she has hands-on experience with SEC filings, ideally in an FPI-environment.

The ideal candidate is a pragmatic as well as performance- and growth-driven personality with bite and charisma, who is characterized by entrepreneurial and solution-oriented thinking and acting.

The ideal candidate has an international background and enjoys working with internal departments and external partners as well as with different cultures and mentalities. The future Head of Accounting & Reporting has a charismatic personality that allows him/her to act as sparring partner to the CFO and CAO as well as the ability to work effectively with external auditors and the SEC.

Key prerequisites in detail

  • Proven experience in US markets and strong M&A track record
  • Finance leadership experience in a public company
  • Experience in a SOX environment, ideally with roll-out experience
  • Excellence in Accounting & Reporting
  • Sound understanding of e-commerce companies
  • Driven and motivating leader with at least 15 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent leadership skills and strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German language skills are a plus, as is French
