The part you’ll play

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Controller to join our dynamic controlling team. As a Junior Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting various financial processes, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Monthly OPEX Reporting: Collaborate with the controlling team to compile and analyze operating expenses (OPEX) data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Identify trends, anomalies, and areas for optimization, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

  • Preparation of FC & Budget: Assist in the development and preparation of the financial forecast (FC) and annual budget. Work closely with team members to gather relevant data, review assumptions, and contribute to the creation of comprehensive financial plans.

  • Detailed Analysis on CC & GL Accounts: Conduct in-depth analysis on cost centers (CC) and general ledger (GL) accounts, highlighting discrepancies, variances, and potential issues. Collaborate with the Accounting department to provide feedback and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • PO Review and Approval: Review and approve purchase orders (PO), ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and accurate coding. Collaborate with relevant departments to address any discrepancies or issues related to procurement processes.

  • Invoice Review and Approval: Thoroughly review and approve invoices, verifying accuracy and adherence to organizational policies. Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any billing discrepancies or concerns.

  • Support During Budget/Forecasting: Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing data, insights, and analytical support. Contribute to the development of financial models and scenarios to enhance accuracy in predicting financial outcomes.

  • (Technical) Preparation of External Reporting: Participate in the preparation of external reports, such as bank reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with reporting standards and regulations, and assist in the compilation of necessary financial data.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • At least 2 years of experience in Financial roles with responsibilities in controlling/auditing/budgeting.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools - Anaplan is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Fluent German skills

This is a hybrid position in our office in Berlin. You will be required to be onsite 3-4 days a week.
