I am Fernando Gómez, software engineer graduated in 2017. I started working as full stack developer for a short period of time, but I have been mainly focused on frontend.
When Signa contacted me, I was happy at my previous job and I was not looking for a change. Nevertheless, I really liked what they told me about the company and the projects. As you can guess, I joined the company though I was in a good and safe position. My opinion? It has been the best decision in my professional career. Referring to projects, there are a set of new projects in development. All of them are related to sports and they have something in common: best practices and modern technologies. Since the first day in the company, I realized the willing to be up to date with the best standards to ensure continuous development and a product of quality.
About the team, there is a lot of communication and everybody I have met is predisposed to help in anything you need. The treatment is always kind and polite, it may seem obvious, but it is not always this way, probably you already have had a bad experience and understand how important a good environment is. Furthermore, there are periodic meetings, technical and non-technical ones, in them we discuss about new standards and problems we face in our projects.
Talking about the culture, I would define it as freedom. You can make your schedule (of course adapt it to the meetings you have). There are only the necessary meetings, I have not had a three-hour call that has no sense yet. You feel the confidence of the team and the leads, it is real remote work.
Finally, communication is something that is taken seriously, they encourage us to talk about anything we think is important or any problem we have, it is nice to have the confidence to talk with HR or the CTO without being “afraid” because you know that they will listen to you. To sum up, I am very happy here and really feel I made the right decision by joining SIGNA, it has everything an IT remote company must have.
