Job Objective: 

You will be joining an evolving team that will complement the company’s growth journey, requiring you to be extremely comfortable with change and always remaining agile. 

The newly created internal audit function is a part of a wider team of Audit, Risk and Compliance, where we aim to be highly trusted experts that support the delivery of strategic objectives and promote a culture of accountability and good governance.

As an Internal Auditor you will apply a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

What you will be responsible for

  • Assist the Head of Audit, Risk and Compliance to deliver the internal audit plan and develop the function.
  • Independently lead, manage and conduct both financial and non-financial audits (e.g. scoping, fieldwork, reporting, etc.) as directed.
  • Oversee external consultants used to resource the audit plan, and provide updates to the Head of Audit, Risk and Compliance.
  • Promote and improve the internal audit function's strategy, approach, and documentation.
  • Carry out ad hoc internal audit projects and consultancy activities as directed.
  • Support management with the follow-up process providing guidance when required.
  • Conduct SOx internal controls testing, as and when required to support with peak periods.
  • Be capable to manage others, and train junior staff

What we're looking for

  • Qualified accountant or auditor (ACA/ACCA/CIA or equivalent) or minimum 5 years industry experience in Internal Audit.
  • Prior internal audit experience, preferably gained in a leading practice or PLC environment.
  • Experience of delivering end-to-end audits both alone and as part of a team.
  • Spoken languages English and German – audit documentation is required to be in English.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen and influence stakeholders.
  • Highly analytical and able to write concise audit reports, with an appropriate level of detail.
  • Experience in retail/logistics/e-commerce would be preferred but not essential.
  • Thrives in a ‘team player’ environment.
  • Previous experience in Transformation/system implementation would be advantageous.
