SIGNA Sports United (SSU) North American Holding is firmly in growth mode.  In 2021, SSU entered the US market with the acquisitions of Tennis Express and Midwest Sports, two of the largest tennis platforms in the US. In December 2021, SIGNA Sports United successfully floated on to the New York Stock exchange and is now a publicly traded Company.  In February 2022, we hired a seasoned industry leader and entrepreneur to lead the acceleration of our bike operations. Our growth has been propelled by acquiring new Brands in leading sports businesses and scaling our current portfolio through our end-to-end e-commerce as-a-service solutions, connecting & enabling offline specialist retailers, and integrating with digital sports communities.  Our tennis and bike teams along with the support of our Holding group, made up of Finance, Technology, and Human Resources, are leading SSU’s growth in the US.

The part you’ll play

Reporting to the Head of Technology, this role will provide functional and technical support for reporting and business Intelligence initiatives. The focus of this position is to partner with key business stakeholders to identify opportunities, define and deliver BI solutions that transform data into critical information to empower our business in reaching its strategic goals. 

Act as a bridge between developers, finance, marketing, and business stakeholders to ensure the business is supplied with clean, actionable data. Develop, implement, and support capabilities to drive operationalizing data through reporting and visualization. Translate business level KPI’s into automated standardized reporting for business users to better understand how they can be effective in their roles. 


  • Perform day-to-day operations; includes monitoring and maintenance, problem investigation and resolution, database optimization and tuning, etc.
  • Develop enhanced functionality on our existing software products and provide development support and assistance for escalations and issues
  • Tackle multiple data transformation and reporting needs, including revenue recognition, email metrics, website and mobile app analysis, customer retention, marketing efficiency, and more.
  • Develop and maintain reports, report schedules, dashboards, publishing, and user administration
  • Participate in the integration of new systems and recommend new technology to support enhanced data needs and requirements.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure integration and performance expectations are met as well as allow for future flexibility to meet changing business needs
  • Create clear, insightful, automated visualizations and reports that provide visibility into business performance, issues, and opportunities.
  • Provide end user training and education programs to on-board and support power users for Business Intelligence tools and data reporting needs
  • Ensures the security, reliability, consistency, and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions
  • Collaborate effectively with teams and business partners to define, document, and implement project work

What you’ll bring to the team


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytical, or related technical field
  • Strong skills in data analysis and data modeling required
  • Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL development, SQL queries, SQL tuning & optimization, and relational database concepts
  • Microsoft SQL Server experience preferred
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
  • ERP systems experience desirable (NetSuite, SAP)
  • E-commerce platform experience desirable (Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud)
  • Experience with Business Intelligence platforms, such as Tableau or PowerBI. 
  • Experience building out production datasets and a proven ability to implement key industry data warehousing techniques with new technology.
  • Experience with reporting requirements of organizations in the e-commerce space, specifically related to customer retention, marketing optimization, and website/mobile app tracking.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity as we are building an environment of growth and change
  • Passionate about exploring new technologies
  • Critical thinking skills to tackle moderate to highly complex business solutions needed.
  • Must have a customer service attitude; to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment while being adaptable to change
